Silent movie concert: 120 Days vs. ‘Unser täglich Brot’
With their self-entitled debut album, 120 Days climbed to the top of a lot of people’s ‘Album of the year’ charts back in 2006. While you’re waiting for the follow-up, you can go and see the band at Eldorado Cinema Theater. The movie that the band has chosen to make a soundtrack to is ‘Unser täglich brot’, which is a German documentary about food production in modern society. The documentary displays an industry dominated by effective, though not always particularly humane machines.
‘Unser täglich Brot’ has won quite a few awards, including the award for best documentary at the European Film Awards in 2006.
The electronic kraut rock of 120 Days fits perfectly as a soundtrack to this movie. Do not miss out on this exclusive concert!
The silent movie concert will take place at Eldorado Cinema Theater on Club Night Tuesday Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. Admission costs 90 NOK for anyone holding an Øya pass. Tickets can be purchased through Oslo Municipal Cinemas or directly at any of Oslo’s cinema theatres.
Other Øya movies running on Tuesday:
‘Heavy Metal in Baghdad’
’De usynlige’
’Joy Division’
’99 % ærlig’
’Lou Reed’s Berlin’
’Sigur Rós: Heima’
As well as the-day-after screenings featuring ‘De usynlige’ and ‘Love Guru’ on Sunday, where audience members will be served burgers and sodas.
