Saviours to replace The sword

Unfortunately, The Sword do not seem to work quite as hard as they play. Due to their US tour with Metallica, they will not take the time to make the trip to Norway to play at the Øya Festival. We’re heavily disappointed that the band, without stating any reason, has cancelled their performance at Øya. We have done everything in our power to convince them, but it has been like banging our heads against the wall.

BUT! We have booked some good friends of theirs who seemingly both play and work a notch harder than their buddies: The Saviours from Oakland, USA.
After surviving a wild tour with Mastodon last year, they have – so far in 2008 – found the time to go on tour with Early Man, Fu Manchu, High on Fire, The Sword, Black Cobra, and Witchcraft. Their label buddies with The Sword on the eminent Kemado Records back in the States, and their latest album, ‘Into Abaddon’, had a lot of brutal rock and metal aficionados get all fired up.

Saviours sound like if Lemmy were to prefer weed instead of speed. The band goes on a reckless rampage throughout the darker spaces of the seventies, though with eighties goon metal as an uninvited companion.
