Rumble In Rhodos

During the past few years, Rumble in Rhodos have found the time to release two great albums and play a lot of great gigs both at home and abroad. Earlier this year, the album ‘Intentions’ came out on Black Balloon. The band still delivers their characteristic mix of post-punk, indie rock, and hardcore. Fugazi, Mars Volta, and Les Savy Fav are only a few of their inspirational sources. Time and again they’ve impressed us with solid live performances, e.g. at the Øya Festival in 2005. After their debut album, ‘Own Me Like the City’ (2006), they won the category Favourite New International Artist during the Canadian Indie Awards. This came as somewhat of a surprise, especially considering the fact that their live debut in said country only took place the following day. Now they’re back on the road with new a new album, which has gotten a lot of praise from many of the pickiest critics across the land. We’re talking one of the strongest rock releases of 2008. Rumble in Rhodos will be exorcising apathy and indifference right outta you on Friday Aug. 8.
